Comment: 4" YUM worms with a bullet sinker pegged is my all around favorite worm to use. Have caught some real Bucketmouths with that setup.I like green with red specks as the color! maybe they look like baby sunfish to a bass. Also use a scent and not the "store bought " kind. Too expensive. I use either babyoil by itself or olive oil with garlic juice. The bass love that !

Comment: Love catchin' bass. Had good luck this fall and some through the ice. My largest was a 7lb. 11oz. caught on a black rubber worm at Mary's Pond in Rochester. No camera that trip. Was pissed about that. Sent her back to pump out some more babies. Really don't like killin' fish.

Comment: Technically, Kurita's fish only tied Perry's record scince the fish was only heavier by one ounce, and IGFA requires the fish two be heavier by at least two ounces in that sort of weight category.

Comment: Spinnerbaits and Texas rigging seem to work pretty good the worm usually doesnt let you down.
Date: 06/02/09 07:44 PM

User: riderer123
Comment: I learned that in MA and RI, bass love green worms with red flakes, brown worms with green flakes, and purple worms with purple flakes. I hardly use live bait.

Date: 05/22/09 10:20 AM

User: bassburner3098
Comment: My son and I have used Texas rig and wacky rig. When one or the other isn't working, we just switch and we usually catch something. Not a pro,by any means, but learning is what it's all about.

Comment: I have caught a ton of bass - ranging in size from 5oz to 10lbs. And all have been on worms with 1/8 oz bullet weight. I fish worms all day long - all year long. I've never had a problem with them biting once I find them...

User: hyjack77
Comment: I use to always fish for largemouth bass in the PM or very early am. I was a big fan of top water lures such as a rapala broken back. Recently I read an article in Field & Stream about Wacky Worming. Now I catch bass all day and night long. I love this technique.

Comment: I love the reaction of a lmb to the popping of a heddon top water popper. It is almost like the fish puts up a better fight.
Date: 04/22/08 08:09 AM

User: overstdr
Comment: Thanks for the tips, i am always looking for pointers on LMB and after checking out your photos looks like you know your stuff.
Date: 03/30/08 08:21 PM

User: jrrose
Comment: Largemouth bass are hard to catch untill the water gets above 55 degrees and much easier above 65 degrees. They feed around wood, logs, downed trees, and primarly ambush what they eat. I catch more on topwater early on buzzbait, and later in the day they go deeper and crankbait or spinnerbait and worms work well.
